To determine the correct length of your browband, lay it flat and measure the total length from one end to the other—without considering the curve. Even for strongly curved models, the actual measured length from leather end to leather end is what matters, as the curve does not affect the fit. All our browbands feature a standardized quick-change system with a 2.5 cm loop size.

The bit straps are measured from bit ring to bit ring – at the points where the bridle attaches to the bit. They should never rest directly on the cheekbone or too close to the eye but should instead run about 1–2 cm behind the cheekbone for a proper fit. When correctly fastened, the bit straps create one to two small wrinkles at the corners of the horse’s mouth, indicating the correct fit and optimal positioning.

The nose circumference is measured approximately 2 cm below the cheekbone, with the noseband ideally positioned about two finger-widths beneath it. It should always be aligned at a right angle to the bit straps and rest evenly across the horse’s nose without tilting up or down. Ensure that the noseband is not positioned too low and is not fastened too tightly. Even when closed, there should be enough space for about two fingers between the noseband and the nasal bridge to provide a comfortable fit and prevent excessive pressure. Proper adjustment ensures both comfort and optimal pressure distribution.
